Medicine is a highly complex science. There is barely any other discipline that undergoes faster developments and greater challenges. Lifelong learning is a pre-condition for continuing progress.

The Vienna School of Clinical Research VSCR offers students and graduates access to international networks and teaches how to perform clinical research according to international guidelines and global ethical principles. Besides compulsory attendance at the courses, e-learning enables global access to training and teaching modules worldwide.

Doctors can access the training programme during their night shifts. Early birds can learn while drinking their morning coffee. The VSCR courses take a new approach to adult teaching; they are interactive, practice-oriented and offer accredited certificates after successfully passed exams.

In 2003, the VSCR started “The Flying School”. It co-operates with international Organisations such as the EU, EDCTP (European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership), universities, international pharmaceutical industry and others. 150 lecturers from more than 40 different countries across the world teach on behalf and in the spirit of the VSCR in countries like the USA, Romania, Malawi, Russia … One of the primary goals of these academically accredited courses is to raise clinical research quality standards in countries of the developing world. The VSCR delivers the knowledge even to those places where there is a need for it.

In co-operation with the most renowned universities wordwide, the VSCR has set itself the goal to raise clinical research standards to the highest quality and ethical level possible.
